The research team is now recruiting participants for Hāpaitia te ngākau aroha – Elevate empathy. A key part of our project is assessing the efficacy of the combined VR scenario anti-bias training on teachers and their students. The intervention study will allow us to track the beliefs, experiences and behaviours of teachers and students overtime to explore the impact of the training and integrated VR scenario.

We are recruiting schools or clusters of schools and up to 150 teachers. Teachers will be invited to complete online surveys and participate in our bespoke anti-bias training developed and led by Professor Christine Rubie-Davies MNZM and Dr Hana O’Regan ONZM. This professional development is free of charge to all participants and will combine both in-person hui and online Zoom sessions. Both school leaders and teachers can indicate their interest in the study.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of cutting-edge research that combines innovative technology with educational expertise to address bias in Aotearoa. Click here to read more information about Hāpaitaia te ngākau aroha – Elevate empathy and to register your expression of interest.
